Zingiber officinale Rose

Fresh   and  dry  ginger  are  valuable  drug  of  indigenous   system of  medicine  with  wide  range  of  usage  in therapeutic  ,pharmaceutics  ,and  also  dietics  . Besides  a  common  drug   and  spice  household  item  ,the  ginger  is  employed  in various  Euoropean  preparations  including  tincture  ,alcoholics  formulations ,etc .


Ginger has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine to treat problems such as vomiting, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, coughing, and rheumatism. Tibb and Ayurvedic medicine also uses ginger to treat inflammatory joint diseases including rheumatism and arthritis.


Ginger root is used today to provide relief for symptoms of motion sickness including sweating, vomiting, dizziness, and nausea. No conclusive results were found when studies compared commercial medications with ginger. Signs of similar results between the two did seem apparent in the studies.

It is pungent in taste, digestent, appetizer, antipoisonous. It is used for abdominal pain, anorexia, heart diseases, oedema, indigestion, arthritis, atonic dyspepsia, bleeding, cancer, chest congestion, chicken pox, cholera, chronic bronchitis, cold extremities, colic, colitis, common cold, cough, cystic fibrosis, diarrhoea, difficulty in breathing, dropsy, fever, flatulence, indigestion, disorders of gallbladder, hyperacidity, hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemia, indigestion, morning sickness, nausea, rheumatism, sore throat, throat ache, stomach ache and vomiting. Ginger form an important constituent of many Ayurvedic formulations.
